WILLOW WOOD SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Our primary school curriculum is designed to
be responsive to the specific needs of each child, emphasizing cooperative
work in small groups and hands-on learning. Core curriculum exceeds all
State of California requirements and includes regular instruction in social
and physical sciences, computers, the arts, physical education and Spanish
language.

Individual instruction in math and language
arts are used to maximize each child's learning potential to engender
self-esteem. Other key curriculum features include programs that
develop conflict resolution, personal interactions, and group negotiation
skills.

"Over
the years, Dainty Center/Willow Wood School has been my family's home
away from home. As a parent, I appreciate the value placed on a safe
environment and
the encouragement that is given to each child for his/her own
individual growth. If I were a kid, this is the school I would want
to come to." - V. Landrum |
ASSESSMENT
Student progress is formally
assessed on a trimester basis, the results being communicated both in
writing and during parent/teacher conferences. |
